Universal Primary Education Program (UPEP)
 
In collaboration with national Commission for Human Development (NCHD), SRSP successfully implemented Universal Primary Education (UPE) Program in Bhiria and Kandiaro talukas of district Naushero Feroze in 14 months. The project activities aimed to ensure the 100% enrollment of boys and girls in primary government schools in the target areas through social mobilization (Table-1).

Voter Education Campaign

With the support of UNDP a voter education campaign was carried out through out four districts Sukkur, Khairpur, Mirpur Khas and Tharparkar of Sindh province, in which District, Taluka and UC level events were organized to educate 15103 male and 7870 female voters.

The campaign was carried out for following purpose
  • Strengthen democratic political culture in Pakistan;
  • Increase public awareness of informed participation in the political process and develop understanding of election processes;
  • Create awareness in the people about:
    • The need to and importance of free and fair elections.
    • The need to exercise their freedom of making informed choices in electing their leaders and
    • The duty and responsibility of every citizen to guard against Electoral malpractices
 

Minimize voter apathy and encourage voting through appreciation and understanding of the negative effects of non participation in registration and voting; and Mobilize and educate women, youth and minorities about elections and its benefits and guide them on voting procedures.
