Social Mobilization

SRSP organized Exposure Visit under Social Moblization Project in collaboration with of Pakistan Poverty Alleviation (PPAF) in two Union councils, Kothi and Kar Malik, Taluka Jati, District Thatta.

During exposure visit teams visited three districts Naseerabad, Jafarabad and Lasbela, in Balochistan province and district Rahimyar Khan, Punjab.

1,005 Community members including 719 male and 286 female were beneficiaries of the program. Participants community organizations (COs) were selected from 40 villages of union counsel Kothi and Kar Malik.

Community Mobilization
Community mobilizations have been made through social mobilization process (Fig.1) in various projects discussed below:
 
 
Support from NCHD
Formed more than 1,000 volunteers through social mobilization in NCHD’s Universal Primary Education (UPE) in Naushahro Feroze district
 
 
Support from PPAF


Micro credit

  • Formed 142 male and 102 female Community Organizations (COs), total membership of COs: 3,697 (2,152 males; 1,545 females) in Nawabshah and Sanghar Districts for micro credit facilities.

CPI Schemes

  • Formed 10 Community Organizations (COs) for Sindh Coastal Area Development Program (SCAD), Jati Thatta District for community physical infrastructure schemes like drinking water, culvert, electricity brick pavement etc.
 
 
Support from ADB / Government of Sindh
  •  Formed 8 male and 7 female and 6 male female combined Community Organizations (COs), total membership of COs is 210 (110 males; 100 females) in Sanghar and Khairpur Districts in poverty reduction pilot project involving road workers in road construction work. 

Support from UNICEF

  • 45 Water and Sanitation Committee (WSC) formed in 45 villages in Tando Mohammad Khan and Mirpurkhas Districts for provision of drinking water through installation and distribution of 40 hand pumps in water and environment Sanitation Project.

 Support from UNDP

Voter Education Campaign: With the support of UNDP a voter education campaign was carried out through out four districts Sukkur, Khairpur, Mirpur Khas and Tharparkar of Sindh province, in which District, Taluka and UC level events were organized to educate 15103 male and 7870 female voters.
